When someone close to you dies, there is a lot that needs to be done – and often, people don’t even know where to begin.

Dealing with these unfamiliar tasks may be made more difficult by the feelings of grief and sense of loss that are likely to develop as time goes on. Sometimes, having to take these steps can be much more overwhelming than we anticipated, even if the death was expected. National Bereavement Service have produced a downloadable checklist that you can read on-screen, or print off to have handy. It includes all the authorities you’ll need to inform about the death of your loved one and the four key things you’ll need to consider in the coming weeks.
